"My prayer for all of them is that they will be one, just as you and I are one, Father-that just as you are in me and I am in you, so they will be in us, and the world will believe you sent me." - Jesus (John 17:21)
Have you ever stopped to consider the magnitude of what Jesus was praying in this area of scripture? The depth of intimacy that He experienced with God the Father was the same depth of intimacy that He desired for this group of peole to share in with Himself. How much more amazing to recognize that this prayer wasn't exclusive to just the disciples, but a prayer that He prayed us!!! One I believe He is still praying over us. It's a prayer that doesn't stop at Oneness with God. It is a prayer that builds momentum, bleeding into deep relationsihps within the church walls and radically impacting the lost outside the church walls!
That kind of Oneness is the aim of the student ministry here at Calvary Chapel. We desire to create an environment where young peole can pursue Oneness with their Creator. I believe that Oneness with God will lead to Oneness with others which will lead to...others discovering the One thing that matters in life!
